Snowie has seized up after a reduction in her Prednisolone this week. She's already seeing vet for an injection of vit B12 on monday as IBD could be a problem again. Her blood folate and B12 were VERY low as had been the case on her diagnosis in the summer of 2010.

I was so sad when she wouldn't come out this morning Sad I'm beginning to think that they'll not be able to keep the juggling of drugs going. Sad I think we'll probably have to go back to her medical vet asap as they really want the steroids cut down, but Snowie can't live happily on the couch for long. She loves her walks, sniffing round the fields seeking out dead rabbit/bird/fox/anything disgusting. She brought me a jet black fox carcass a few weeks back. I had seen the vixen with two black cubs over the summer, and I suppose it was one of these cubs. It was fairly well rotted when Snowie proudly brought it home. The sight of my beautiful white Snowie dragging a jet black fox home was quite remarkable. (I nearly puked, mind). I hope she has many more years of doing these disgusting things, but I think time may be running out slowly Sad

Sad So sorry Snowie is not feeling up to her walk, and the sofa is to comfy to leave, bless her.
I do feel for you at this time, I hope she is feeling a little better tomorrow.

I`m sorry Snowie isn`t feeling good Shirley, I hope her medical vet is able to do something to help her, if the steroids help her to keep going and enjoy life then I`d want her kept on them.

I hope Snowie is feeling better soon and able to go out hunting for disgusting carcasses again.

I'm really sorry to hear Snowie isn't doing well at the moment and I hope she pick's up soon.

I agree with Mary - if the steriods and helping and work, then I'd want to keep her on them.

What an image that is! Snowie with her jet black fox carcass! Ewgh!

I hope that the juggling act can be continued for a lot longer so Snowie can give you lots and lots more *lovely* Confused memories Shirley. That girl is definitely a battler and maybe feels a little like hibernating for a while after feeling the cold, damp wetness of the outdoors. The sniffs will be more exciting as things warm up after xmas. Fingers crossed that the vets are willing to continue trying to balance things for her benefit xxxxx

Have you tried just reducing the preds by half a tablet?

My old Weimy couldn't cope with the reduction of a whole tablet but was fine with a reduction of half a tablet.

I know they are really small tablets and its really fiddly to half them but it worked for him.
