I have now spoken to one of our Trustees and our discussion where we both agreed each dog and rehoming situation should be taken on merit. As a result the Trustee was to look at amending the current direction. It would appear not to be the age issue but more the fact that Jimmy is an unclaimed stray. As I have already posted however I have taken him out with my girls and some of the other rescue dogs and experienced no problems whatsoever. This is not something that I or the Trustee can decide alone. This will take some time so my advice would be if anybody is interested in fostering any of our older dogs and already have another dog/s then it is still worth filling in the application form and including as much detail as possible. I personally think we can only identify any potential problems if there could be any during a meeting of the dogs.
Jimmy is still with us at present although we may have a potential foster in the pipeline. Until this is a done deal however I would encourage any potential interested people to complete an application form and register their interest.
I hope this helps

It's good to hear that each case will be assessed individually to give Jimmy and other oldies like him the best chance of getting a home. Fingers crossed that he gets somewhere in time for Christmas. Taking in an old dog has been an eye opener for me and our old Gus is such a joy to be around and so much calmer and cuddlier than the young dogs. Whoever is lucky enough to get the lovely Jimmy has a real treat in store.
I have an 'insider' in the kennels who has told me that Jimmy is to be viewed on Saturday, 17th. If all goes well he may get that forever home before Christmas. I will keep you posted. He is such a nice old boy

I've just seen on the Labrador Welfare site that Jimmy appears to now have been reserved for fostering
I cannot give you any further details but hopefully this will be his forever home and he may get his christmas dinner with his paws under a table
I so love this old boy, he is adorable, I am chuffed to bits
