Jimmy has come to us as an unclaimed stray. Jimmy is a light coloured yellow Labrador and clearly has had a caring owner in the past who fed and fed him. He is rather a tubby little chap but with a careful diet this can properly be adjusted. Jimmy is not a very big boy and although he does pull a little on the lead at first he does check and respond. Jimmy is thought to be in the region of 8-10 years. I have taken Jimmy out with Jet and my two own labradors and they have all been fine. It would be really nice to get Jimmy his forever home before Christmas and the cold weather comes in at the kennels. He has actually now been in kennels for some weeks due to the initial period awaiting collection, injections etc. In the first instance please register your details on our website if you could offer Jet her forever home and then contact June 0114 2661756. Please leave a message if not picked up and continue to ring.
As Jimmy is one of our older dogs she is offered for fostering, does not attract a fee, but donations are always welcome. As with all our older dogs the charity pays all vet bills. We must ask however, that prospective foster carers pay for vaccinations, worm and flea treatments. You provide food, exercise and companionship. In return you will get an undemanding friend and unconditional love.
With only a week left of rehoming days we will need to move fast if we are to get Jimmy his forever home before Christmas. The clock is against us.

I agree. He really is a chunky cuddly fluff ball. I am contemplating sneaking him in with my girls as my oh is still resisting my third lab. Perhaps I should move the dogs in and oh out

Hi, This is something that I am to discuss tomorrow evening with one of the Trustees and the rehoming co-ordinator. I can see the reasoning behind this as they will be thinking about a younger boisterous dog not being a suitable companion, however my thoughts are each case on its merits. I personally have an 18 month old with an 11 year old and manage quite nicely. I will get back to you if that's ok. Thank you for looking and asking.

Just wanted to add that I have an elderly foster and two youngsters. My oldie gets a bit fed up of them when they get really boisterous but they respond really well to him barking at them to tell them off when they go too far. Saves me a job too! Also, having the company of younger dogs has stripped years off him. We always say he has found his inner puppy. Jimmy might be quite happy with a younger dog bless him.
Would be lovely to see this boy get a home for Christmas
