Jet has come to us as an unclaimed stray. She was chipped but we have been unable to locate an owner. It is not known whether she is spayed but she does not appear to have had pups. Jet is such a gorgeous, gentle girl. She does not pull on the lead and is a proper lady. Guessing her age is difficult as she does have a number of grey hairs and is thought to be in the region of 8-10 years. I have taken Jet out with Jimmy and my two own labradors and they have all been fine. It would be really nice to get Jet her forever home before Christmas and the cold weather comes in at the kennels. She has actually now been in kennels for some weeks due to the initial period awaiting collection, injections etc. In the first instance please register your details on our website if you could offer Jet her forever home and then contact June 0114 2661756. Please leave a message if not picked up and continue to ring.
As Jet is one of our older dogs she is offered for fostering, does not attract a fee, but donations are always welcome. As with all our older dogs the charity pays all vet bills. We must ask however, that prospective foster carers pay for vaccinations, worm and flea treatments. You provide food, exercise and companionship. In return you will get an undemanding friend and unconditional love.
With only a week left of rehoming days we will need to move fast if we are to get Jet her forever home before Christmas. The clock is against us.

This is an issue that I have raised only this evening with one of our Trustees. I had a similar question regarding Jimmy. Following our discussion where we both agreed each dog and rehoming situation should be taken on merit. As a result the Trustee was to look at amending the current direction. This is not something that I or the Trustee can decide alone. This will take some time so my advice would be if anybody is interested in fostering any of our older dogs and already have another dog/s then it is still worth filling in the application form and including as much detail as possible. I personally think we can only identify any potential problems if there could be any during a meeting of the dogs.
I am pleased to report in any event that Jet has gone to her new foster home so fingers crossed all goes well. I only found out this afternoon so will be updating the site to show this.
Thank you for looking and please consider any of our other dogs.

I too feel so strongly about this. It's out of my hands at the moment but I am certainly not a quitter. There are so many benefits of mixing the oldies with the tearaways
We can but try, but I am constantly told that Rome was not built in a day. My idea would be just to get some more builders on the job then....

Good luck to the lovely Jet. She would have looked good on my couch . I can't take boys as some of my girls are badly affected ex-breeding bitches, and I wouldn't inflict a dog on them in their retirement days.
Jet went to her forever home (fingers crossed) last week and seems to have settled down. I had a particular soft spot for Jet as she was such a lady, apart from rolling in the sawdust and looking like a proper scruff. I will remove her from the Rehoming page when I get my log on sorted. Thank you for your posts for this lovely girl
