Just read the blog and wow!

She sounds like she's galloping through milestones already! Very Happy

Just to give a bit of hope on the 2 dog side of things! I brought Tucker home at the end of July as an 13month old rescue and it did take Luna some time to realise that not ALL commands were for her, that not ALL treats offered were for her now and that not ALL food was hers! She has learnt slowly but surely to be more steady but did go a bit 'deaf' for a spell as well as if thinking 'you are recalling him not me!' I have been training myself to give commands with their names in front of them unless I want them both to do it. Eg SIT means both sit, 'Luna SIT' means Luna does, 'Tucker HERE' means he comes and she doesn't! It does take training with both dogs, I was lucky that Tucker aka 'Mr Sit and Look Pretty Confused' when he first came home and was asked to do something quickly picked up on Luna's infectious enthusiasm for learning/treats and now loves to try to please!

It sounds like your Murphy is doing a great job of showing Jewel the ropes! Looking forward to seeing some pictures and Luuuurve that she is confident enough to curl up to sleep on your bed - Wow! I think it is a real bonding experience to be happy sleeping with each other kicking the other!

Just read the blog. It takes me back five years Laughing Feather took a couple of days to get up on the sofa with Jazz, and then the bed. Feeding two was no problem, but three months later when I brought Que, Queen and Snowie home, suddenly there were five of them. Feather and Jazz were fed in the kitchen as usual, and Queen was near the doorway to the garden in the back room, and I fed Que and Snowie either side of me on the sofa. Snowie is still fed there, on my right. Peppa has hers in the kitchen with Jazz and Feather, and Molly has hers at my feet. I need Molly and Snowie to have theirs properly because they have serious drugs in them which no-one else must have. Molly has Thyroxine, and Snowie's are well-documented here on LF.

Que and Queen never really mastered the stairs. They had no muscle and Queen couldn't get up my back step at first. I've since had a piece of wooden decking as a half-step. We had to build up the walks, starting at a couple of hundred yards. By the time they died, Que and Queen were walking a mile twice a day, all off-lead, in farming fields. I loved their discovery of freedom, realising they can sniff new smells every day, chasing the odd rabbit, eat a bit of dead stuff, roll in fox poo. Every discovery they made filled me with immense pride. Que was naughty, pinching every remote control she could find. She had a priceless look when she was caught in the act. I loved it.

Once they all discovered the delights of a bellyrub, or a gentle tickle of the ears, they wouldn't ever leave my side. They loved the physical contact. They are and were a wonderful family, as well as my human one.

It is wonderful to hear about Jewel's journey with you, and may it be a long and healthy one for many years.
