I'd feel the same if it was any of mine, but the cynic in me wonders whether the owners will ever actually know it happened or whether the current carers will keep it quiet Rolling Eyes

Sarah, you are a star! Thank goodness you found them when you did.

Wonder if they had collars and tags and the current ( carer's) took them off!! or if the owners didn't bother with them Rolling Eyes

A couple of weeks ago I found a staffy X on our local park and it too had no collar on and was wandering about in the car park by a busy road. I called the warden who was only a few minutes away as no owners appeared to be in sight. The park is huge but from the car park I could see right over for about a mile and no one was there. Poor thing was shaking. The warden came very quickly and took her to the local rehoming centre. I continued my walk meeting up with my father and his dog, about 30 mins into the walk a couple with another dog were calling out for a futher dog, I asked them if they had lost one and asked them to describe it. It was the one that I thought was lost. I told them I had phoned the warden and she had taken the dog to the local rescue centre and all I got was a mouthful of abuse. Luckily I was in a pro-active mood and replied back - " you do know that it's illegal and you could get fined for not having a collar on your dog" they just stomped off. Some people really shouldn't be allowed to keep dogs! lol rant over

Well done for helping the little staffy cross. I do hope the dog warden applied the fine that they're allowed to just to teach them a lesson Evil or Very Mad

They had collars on, but they did look as if they've had them since puppies as each collar was now on the very last hole for the buckle and had just a tiny flap of material to tuck under the buckle. No tags though Sad
