SARAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have taken the reserves off.... the homecheck booked for this morning was cancelled 10.30 last night - the homechecker let me know, the people have not contacted us. The second one was asked to email full address info yesterday lunchtime, nothing received so texted this morning asking if still interested and if so let me have details.... nothing heard.

I had thought as people may want a certain dog it was better to put reserved pending homecheck - sorry, we will make a note of your interest in whichever pup it is but will not put any reserves on until after homecheck now... we do not want to lose interest due to people pulling out before then.

If I had just said "oh you want a pup fine what is your address" it would be bad enough but I spent ages with each of those people talking about pups, training, visitors, adolescent stages, agility, mental stimulation etc etc until I was happy that they could be the right home for one of them.

No it's not!! Shocked Thankfully, I have enough marbles in place to know that our lifestyle would never suit a busy collie, but I can still drool over the gorgeous boy love4

Clearly these were not the right people for these special pups, G, but I completely understand how frustrating it is. When we were homing the handrear pups both me and Fi spent a lot of time conversing by phone or email about their needs (present and future) and yet all 4 available pups were eventually let down by at least one family before finding their perfect forever homes.

I suspect that people don't properly think these things through. Then when they start to speak to someone about what is involved, they get cold feet and think NO, or maybe even decide to buy a puppy from a BYB where they won't get any advice and are left to their own devices Rolling Eyes Who knows what goes through some people's minds.

Fortunately, I have enough marbles to know that IF I ever get another dog it will be a rescue lab (black, to make up the trio Wink ). I suspect though that I will foster instead once Bella has been spayed and re-leaned her manners!

February pics http://s1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee375/caredogs/Pregnant%20Collie/Feb%202012/?albumview=slideshow

We have an unofficial note of who is interested iin which pup but until the homechecks are done (some booked for this week) they are all still officially available.

Skye is now almost housetrained - poor Kate, not just the pups but a mum who had never been indoors before either - and the pups are getting the hang of following her outside and copying her, so progress!

Both girls have now gone to their new homes.

Brown faced boy went today - he has gone on a 2 week trial as they have a very stroppy cat, he is used to cats but just in case the cat is nasty to him they have signed an agreement for the 2 weeks including that they are responsible for any vet costs!

Big boy is going on Tuesday so just little Ceri (pronounced Kerry) is left - he will be the only boy in a house of women!
