Hello and welcome I am so sorry you lost your sacha in such a distressing way that must be hard to take.

My dog Max is certainly not a cuddly dog he is a bit more now then before but he is nearly 7 months it is always on his terms normally when I am doing some thing Laughing

Do we get to see a photo of Basil the pup? Very Happy

Oh, and don't worry, the cuddles will come before 6 months, don't force it, but 6 months is usually when things just seem to click into place. They can still be naughty, and they're bigger, but both of you know what you're doing by then.

You just wait, when he's fully grown with muscles the weight of a neutron star and trying to climb on your knee when you've got a cuppa in your hand, you'll be wishing he wasn't so affectionate.

Dont worry about Basil not cuddling.I went through the same with Ted,we brought him home when he was almost 9 weeks and for the first couple of weeks he was very aloof.I remember thinking "Teddy hates us" Embarassed Rolling Eyes .How wrong i was,hes the most loving happy dog ever and loves cuddles with the family. If im sitting on the couch,he'll actually lie around my neck like a scarf! or if im ironing he lies on my feet.He loves human contact,be it with me,OH or the kids.It will just take time, enjoy him xx
