As the year comes to a close, we remember all the wonderful times we shared with our fur and human friends, sadly, there will be many who are not here to share our Christmas with us this year, or see in a New Year, it is in this thread that we can remember those who have passed over to the Bridge.
Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there. ~ Isla Paschal Richardson
Remembrance
Remembrance is a golden chain
Death tries to break,
but all in vain.
To have, to love, and then to part
Is the greatest sorrow of one’s heart.
The years may wipe out many things
But some they wipe out never.
Like memories of those happy times
When we were all together.

I asked God for a flower, He gave me a garden.
I asked God for a tree, He gave me a forest.
I asked God for a river, He gave me an ocean.
I asked God for the world, He gave me Tara Banana.
My heart is lost to you, always and forever.

Thank you so much for posting this, Nat. I'm really struggling with the idea of getting through Christmas without Flora as it was her favourite time of year: presents to open, lots of food, photos to be posed for, silly hats, everything. My heart is breaking at the thought of facing it without her
My precious girl, I'm not sure how we can "celebrate" Christmas without you and the prospect of facing a fresh, new year without you is even harder to bear. My heart still aches for you and I will miss you forever

The tree is all trimmed.
The gifts are all wrapped.
The hymns are all sung,
Ant the travel plans mapped.
And still there's a sadness
That lies in your heart,
For a dog that was lost
A stocking is missing,
With toys and a treat.
A lap is now empty,
A space at your feet.
Yet remember this season
God's small gift to you,
Wonderful memories
To treasure life through.
Merry Christmas to my Indy. You are, and always will be, my love. I fall asleep every night with you in my heart.
Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. ~Author Unknown
We miss Lenny every day, and each Christmas, we string fairy lights around his picture on the wall to make him part of it with us.
I'd also like to mention Jenny, our family ESS, who died in 1999. She was a quirky girl; hated the rain, emptied the bin way too frequently, was a prolific food thief (including a whole frozen chicken with carrier bag, innumerable tubs of flora, a joint of beef fresh out of the oven...)
Merry Christmas, Rainbow Bridge friends. Santa still visits, wherever you may be
