Blimey, this forum is not as helpful and friendly as I remember it to be, bring back the old days.

Thanks to those that replied to my 1st post - I think I'll find another dog forum, people might be more helpful and chatty there.

I have just given you a link to an entire blog post that I wrote about poop-eating, with explanations and answers. How is that unhelpful? And as previously asked, how old is Poppy?

Okay, if she's 12 weeks, she may well grow out of it in a couple of months anyway as she matures, but if you don't want to leave this to chance, my suggestion for the next couple of weeks is to include some raw tripe in her diet to boost her nutrition and digestive enzymes (you can buy it frozen as free-flow mince from Pets at Home) and also include in her diet one of the foods that is supposed to give poop a bad taste, so pineapple (fresh is best, but you can use tinned so long as it is in 'own juice', not syrup), pumpkin or courgette, in order to break the habit (pineapple/pumpkin/courgette to go in her food, not on her poop). If this doesn't help, we can think again.

I needed to read that blog again thanks Lizi!

Just to reassure myself again that cat poo, horse poo,.... it's all normal! Disgusting and solved with a brisk remove or OFF ... but normal! puke_l puke_r I guess at least my 2 have the same taste in 'food' !!

I'm afraid I can't be helpful and chatty when I'm stuck at work CharlieBrewer!!
It can be helpful when adding a new query onto an old thread to indicate by editing your title to indicate you need 'more help needed on p2!' as some people see good responses or see that it is an old thread revived and don't read to the end. Lizi obviously did this time!

Hope that you solve the pup poop eating issue - we stick to the 'other species' poop in this house! Good luck!

Hey, sorry I'm no expert but just some reassurance from me. Hogan ate his own poo for a few weeks when he was a pup but he soon stopped. I can't explain why he started or stopped. I fed him on skinners puppy. I know it's a yucky habit and can make the strongest stomach gag. I did email my breeder and she was very helpful and said not to worry too much.
Don't worry I'm sure it will sort itself.

Xx
