Bonnie has three mammary nodules that the vet will remove when she goes in for her spay next month Crying or Very sad Poor little poppet

I'm trying my hardest not to worry but because the vet said 'pre cancerous' of course I am worrying.

Has anyone any experience of them please? xx

My Lurcher had lots of little mammary nodules and she had them for years. They were very slow growing and none got any bigger than a large pea. My vet didn't want to disturb them, so we just kept an eye on them to make sure they didn't suddenly have a growth spurt. They never bothered Tara and she died at 14 of something totally unrelated, so I don't think they are always anything sinister.

No advice because I have no experience of them, but it can only be a good thing if they are going to be taken away and don't get the chance to become anything nasty in Bonnie's very bright future Group Huuug!

They're quite hard pea like lumps just underneath her nipples Catherine.

Where is Mae's lump?

I'm sure beautiful Bonnie will be fine and as Sarah says it sounds like a good thing. Prevention is better than cure.

Sending lots of love and hugs to you both.

Que had lots of these, and slowly but surely she ended up having all her nipples removed. None of them were cancerous. However, Queen had a very nasty-looking mammary tumour removed in autumn 2007 which was a cancer. It was deep in the mammary tissue, so nothing like you are describing. I never take what I consider risks with their health, so I think it is right that Bonnie's nodules are removed. I've been told that about 25% of these gorgeous ex-breeding bitches will get mammary cancer at some time.

((((Hugs)))) and good luck to beautiful Bonnie xx

Where is Mae's lump?

Picture below of Mae's lump - any thoughts ladies?? Vet says its fine and last time we went he did squeeze it and puss came out (yuck) but I still worry about it just because she's an ex-breeder I suppose Confused Confused Sorry its a rotten picture but she thinks its hilarious if you take her photo and starts rolling around on the floor so this was the best photo I could take - does it look like Bonnie's Jo?? xx
