I'm afraid I dont have much landing do she will go from upstairs to down in one go. . .hence I am a little wary of how it will go. I could put her in the spare room so the cage is near the door which is then near my bedroom door - that's an option I guess. That way she s further from me but not as far as downstairs. Might try that for a few nights.

I'm glad the process is working. I find that it is all about getting my two into a normal routine so that they know how to behave at certain times of the day. You have taught your little one that they settle and go to sleep when they are in their crate at night. Now it is just a step by step slowly slow adjustment to moving that crate where you want it. I'd go with the spare room for a few nights and once happy head down to the bottom of the stairs.
Fingers crossed!!
