Hi!
OH came with us to agility at the weekend. We did our normal saturday morning drop-in fun class at a local doggy daycare centre and then we did a demo with the club we train with. There was a horse-riding event by a guy called Oliver Townend (I'm told by those int he know he is well known but i can hardly tell one end of a horse from the other so i didn't know him) and they wanted something for the lunch break so asked us as we train in the horse arena on a Tuesday night.
So hope you enjoy it - we have ALOT to learn - especially with the weave poles but it was good to see how much Tiber has come on and, most importantly, how much his tail wags!
He has only been doing it since September? THIS YEAR!? really!? Wow! He is so good. He was steady and kept checking in with you. What a cracking chap love the video, it was great to watch
thanks celine - yup september this year! - we have done gun dog trainign with him which i think helps his steadiness and general obedience - that plus i had sausages in my hand so hes prob looking for them!
Wow Annie, he is coming on fantastically well. He obviously has a massive amount of trust in you as he stayed very focused even in a very exciting environment (although his flyball experience probably helped). With some more good groundwork over the winter you should definitely be ready for some competitions next year.
(What is his breeding btw? He is a lovely looking chap.)
Tiber has a gundog background - his Sire is Mordor Port (Zeus) and Dam is Whitewhisp Blackfoot. He has FTCHs on both sides aswell as some SH CH if you go back far enough and if my memory is correct (but if i'm not mistaken is that not more the show side of things) He is quite a big dog compared to alot of the gundog labs we have met - is approx 33kg but is pretty athletic
We chose him as his parents had good hip scores, clear eyes, mum has a nice temperment and he was a lovely pup - and he really is developing into a fabby dog (cant beleive he will be 2 next month! where have the last 2 years gone?!)
Well done, he's got some good contacts there - something I wish we had done from the start. He's doing so well to say you've only been doing it for a couple of months.
Isn't it difficult to do such a long run of weaves - I hate them and groan whenever I see such a long run. Coco is ok on the beginners weaves that are angled but we're not getting very far on the straight ones.
