I have Bella on Skinners puppy as I moved her off the Wainwrights she came on from the breeder, but in the last week, when she is now fully on Skinners, her stools have been quite soft. Now I am not sure that it is related to the food as she has also started eating more 'natural' things from outside in this time too!
I just wondered what the thought were on this as a puppy food as I am wondering if it doesn't suit her.
I couldn't get Pickle's tum right on Skinners, she was always too loose. I think it contains a lot of fillers/roughage (beet pulp, etc), which seemed to go straight through her, making her windy in the process.
I went the other way and changed her to Wainwrights and she was much better on that, however all my dogs poos are the best on BARF. It's like clearing up pebbles from the garden.
I've just taken Sprocket lurcher puppy off that food as he just didn't seem to hold weight, was always loose on it and just was very windy. He's been completely on Arden Irange puppy for just 5 days and already he's not looking so scrawny and his poo is what I would call normal.
I'd go back to the Wainwrights if she was ok on that, as Jules said I think some of the Skinners range contain fillers, wheat etc that can make some dogs soft/loose
mine was on skinners puppy until 9months I think (recommended on bag) the n changed to skinners duck & rice and hes been fine on it poos easy to pick unless as said before unless hes been eating something off his normal diet. I think its finding what suits your dog, my previous dog did very well on labrador life salmon and rice dog food, but Arley was on skinners from the breeder and my vet said not to change his food unless their was a problem.
