The phonecall by my husband to the insurance company was quite funny 'and how did this happen sir?'.......

It usually pays to not give too much detail. "A bird flew into the windscreen guv!" usually covers the finer points!

Ouch, hope that heals up soon. Dougal had a similar ear gash a few months back after a clash with an angry Staffie & bathing it in lavender water really helped it heal well.

I had to wait for nearly an hour at the vets the other day for young Tom's Cartrophen jab after a pointer appeared sporting an extremely bloody turban - he'd taken on a group of 5 pheasants out on a walk over at Roundway Hill - and lost!

Now I'm not going to lie here - I was extremely sorry that the poor lad needed his ear stitching - but I couldn't help but think "GO PHEASANTS"...

Hope Barney is recovering well (that is some scratch) and the insurance company are being co-operative. Didn't appreciate that picking up was quite so hazardous Wink
