Hey,

Looking for some advice,Brodie went to the vet 3 weeks ago with conjunctivitis and was given drops (I know now to just get drops from the chemists!)

Anyway after a day or two they cleared up and I carried on with the drops for another few days as advised! One of his eyes was a bit weepy again after a few days so started the drops again, and it but now again his eyes are weepy more than usual!

Should I go back the vets, his eyes are not red just weepy, nor is he trying to itch them or should I go and buy more drops from chemist?

Oh and any suggests what it might be?

We have had good results from bathing with cool tea, worth a try.

The tea bag would probabaly be ok, but I use cotton wool ball, one for each eye.

No milk or sugar Wink .

I think its the tanning in the tea that helps, I have'nt had to do it for ages, but if it does'nt clear up in a few days, then I go to the vet, which has'nt been necessary since Mischa was a pup.

Ok so I actually had a pot of cold tea, so I used a cotton pad and dipped it in to cold tea, wiped it around both his eyes, then soaked a fresh two and just held it gentlly over his eyes for a min or two, then finally dud it again but holding it right in the corner where the weep is coming from!

Will repeat in the morning and at lunchtime, dinner time and bedtime for 48 hrs and see how we go!

Thanks

Hey,

Came down to him this morning and there was more weep and gunk than normal, so I would think that the tea is helping to withdraw whatever is in there?

I did the same again this morning at last night (see my last post)!

Any suggestion to my comments or anyone else had the same issue and used cold tea to bath?

P.s I remember when first using the drops the next morning there was a lot more weep & gunk than normal also

Can't offer any help - sorry - but we are having the same thing at the moment, so thanks for posting as we will give the cold tea a try.

Max has been a bit more sneezy at times, so I wonder if it is a seasonal thing? He has always had a little bit of gunk from his eyes at odd times, but it is definitely more noticeable this last week.....

Yes, cold tea really does work! But better than cotton buds which can leave fibres in the eye, a better bet is to use a screw of kitchen roll.

Regards, John
