Very well done to my lovely Millie for acing her Bronze test last night!
This is a girl who came to me less than 4 months ago and was nicknamed The Bimbo because she is very pretty but very dim! (it took the whole of the first training class just to teach her a sit!) Turns out that we were wrong about the dim part!
The only slightly sour point is that she has been doing so well that the instructor had said that if we passed Bronze last night we could enter for Silver on Thursday, however because another dog in the class (Max the Lab) gets very over excited by Millie and will break his stay to come and jump on her (she does nothing to encourage him) we've been told that we can't now enter as Max has been there longer / is the priority to get through
It's annoying that we don't have the chance to have a go because someone else can't control their dog, but never mind, we've been promised another test night soon after christmas.
so - WELL DONE MILLS!
Angela

Oh, do you mean me? For a moment there I wondered how you knew our obedience trainer, Sue

Did you really think she would fail?
She's been really unsettled on her stays in class due to being pounced on by Max who took every opportunity to try to have his wicked way with her! Luckily without him there she settled really nicely and almost dozed off!
We managed to confuse the examiner when he checked her collar and lead. He said that we shouldn't really have the dogs name on the tag as it makes them "easier to steal", so I just said "that's ok - that's not her name" (she's actually still wearing an old tag of Moss's)
couldn't she just stop outside until it was her turn for the silver test and the same for Max kind of take it in turns surely it doesn't matter if they play about outside so long as they appear calm and controlled in the exam room?

WELL DONE MILLIE - we're super impressed and hope that your mummy gave you plenty of treats for being such a good girl.

it's a group exam - they all do the stay at the same time along one wall of the room. If one dog breaks their stay the others are expected to stay put (unless they are physically jumped on, in which case you can have another go, but there's no way Millie would then settle back down - she finds Max's attentions a bit stressful).
