Hi All,

how long do your girls keep panting for after giving birth?

Coco was panting for about a week after...We thought it was eclampsia so we got her calcium supplements and she eventually just stopped. It was actually pretty scary because she was twitching and breathing very heavily so I am just saying keep an eye on her breathing and her muscle movement etc.

She will pant heavily from time to time as he womb contracts back to normal size. As she pants she may well still scratch up, dig and will almost certainly lose discharge/blood and various gunk. She will especially do this (without the digging) whilst allthe pups are on and feeding. Some bitches pant like this for at least a week after probably longer. Most lose discharge and blood for weeks yet so never worry about that.
