As some of you know, Murphy was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the year. At that time we were told we could have him for 2-3 months.
Well, Murphy was a stubborn dog. His motto seemed to be "Yes okay, I'll do it when I'm ready". The only way was Murphy's way, which meant that we had him for a further 10 months. A time cherished by us all.
Sadly on Wednesday evening, we noticed that something wasn't quite right and by Thursday evening, after a few tests were carried out at the vets, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go.
Again our lives have been turned upside down in the space of 24 hours. But what would Murphy do? Murphy took what life threw at him and got on with it. He took life in his stride and taught us so much.
When we adopted Woody at 6 months, Murphy accepted him into our family without a cross word, or grumble. He helped Woody adjust to living in our home, introduced him to his friends, taught him how to swim, chase a ball, and even how to roll in fox poo!
Our big handsome gentleman was a dog in a million. He was gentle, kind, polite and he touched the hearts of everyone that met him.
Sleep tight sweetheart, we all miss you and always will. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
We love you so much.
Diane, Tim, Kirsty and Woody.

Loss leaves a heart-ache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
I am so sorry to read this about Murphy.
He sounds like a wonderful Lab, your tribute to Murphy is lovely and brought a tear to mine and Toby's eyes.
I can tell from your posts how much you love Murphy and Woody and i'm sure Woody is a better dog for having been brought up with Murphy's help.
RIP Murphy.
Take Care.
Gary and Toby xx
