I'm after the experiences people have as the dog beds in the crates of my pair would fit so much easier without a bowl wedged in the corner!

Is it worth getting a bowl that can either clip on or bolt on the crate sides?

How big a bowl do you have for a crate where dog spends a maximum of a few hours a time?

Are they actually secure or does a simple nose nudge, tail wag, or knock send them splashing water everywhere to flood the dog bed!?

Thanks!

Darcie had a clip on one as a pup and kept removing it Rolling Eyes So wouldn't recommend a clip on one .

Unless they are going to be a long time in a crate I dont now leave water. They have bowls all around so they drink before I have to shut them in. I used to have a bowl in the crate but it still swamped everything!!

The clip on one kept getting flipped out and with the bolt on one the holder got left in place whilst the actual bowl was hoofed out Rolling Eyes

We've had some success with a coup cup. Useless with a puppy, but for an older dog like Luna it would probably do just fine!

They aren't awful exspensive so worth getting one to try.

I don't think either actually drink much when shut in crate but do go back in for drinks when door is open!

I THINK that the beds are cushiony enough to sit under the hanging bowl so that hopefully pushing it out accidently is difficult...

Thanks for the recommendation Fee! I think I'll order one and give it a go.... the worst that happens is a wet bed!

Just to add i use a bolt on coop cup for Cassie and a plastic clip on (i think made by ferplast) for Lexi. Both successful as not too big and i have them in the car too without a problem

My Mum asked if you could get something like our hamsters used to have!!!

I have the feeling that one of my dogs would chew one of those! - he'd manage to pull it through or destroy even if fixed to the outside I'm sure Laughing

I'm going to pop to Pet shop tomorrow to see what options they have and to get my hands on some before I order cheaper online!!! Very Happy

Thanks everyone!

I got a hang-on coop cup from ebay ( think it was parrot supplies but it's reasonably large!) - had no issues with it being knocked off when full as it balanced out quite heavily.

Was a bit like this. http://www.parrotparaphernalia.com/accessories/feeding-dishes/stainless-steel-coop-cup/prod_95.html (sorry if link is not allowed, please remove if it is!)

I can imagine Tess could have removed it if she'd really wanted too - and sat around on soggy vetbed, but I never felt her bed had been wet from it.

We don't use it now unless it's a very hot day and extra water is required when she's crated. Smile
