Welcome to LF.

You are doing the right thing. I did just the same last year and bought home my puppy in Feb this year.#
He is coming up 10 months and really is our best friend. We all love him to bits and the help and advice we have had on here before and after we got him has been amazing.
He is reasonably well behaved, good natured and just fits in to family life!

I know I could not of achieved this without the help of all the lovely members on here. Read lots of posts so you get a good idea before puppy comes home.

Enjoy Labs really are the best!!

Welcome to LF and well done for taking the time to fond out what you are letting yourself in for, Labs are a lovely breed to own but as John says they can be very hard work when they are young, others are little angels, much like kids really Laughing

Have a read through the puppy section as John recommended and ask about anything your not sure of or want clarification on, no question is too silly so don`t be afraid to ask anything you like Very Happy

Hello and welcome. Well done for trying to find out as much as possible before getting your lab.

Labs really do come in all shapes, sizes and packages. They are usually fantastic, friendly and loyal dogs once they have been well socialised, though as John said, pretty hard work as puppies (very bouncy, very boisterous and always testing the boundaries). Many young labs will also like to chew anything and everything if they get the chance, so safeguard anything that matters to you or it might get shredded and eaten. Rolling Eyes They are plenty of fun as well though, so lets not forget that. Wink Laughing

Fire away with the questions. I sure wished I had found this site before getting Charlie. Laughing

Welcome to LF!

Ask away and read away!

Rescue labs are just as wonderful as pups bought from a breeder (Have one of each now) and come in all ages, temperaments, sizes and colours! Worth reading the threads in that section as well as the puppy! Very Happy

The most important thing to remember about Labradors is they are bouncy bouncy bouncy bouncy fun fun fun fun fun, the wonderful thing about labradors is there's bloody loads of them.
(to the tune of Tigger's song, Winnie the pooh)
Good luck in your search.
