3 months old yellow lab. he is smaller compared to his sister. Maybe he is the runt of the litter? he weights 5kg. He is well-fed 3 times a day. Im kinda worried coz his fur is not as dense as his sister's and is lesser on the sides. Please advice =) sorry to ask questions on my 1st post.
My Luna was about 6kg when 3months old so wasn't too much bigger than your boy. She is only 18" tall (at the whither) at 3 years old so a small girl! If he is eating, drinking, playing, chewing and behaving as a normal pup does then hopefully he'll gain weight without problem. Are you feeding what it says to on the food guide?
I don't know about the fur - so long as the skin is covered, he isn't itchy and doesn't have patches of hair missing I wouldn't worry too much as they lose the puppy fur as they get older so the coat does change texture and density. Every dog is an individual so it is difficult to compare even 2 litter siblings.
Next time you head to the vet for a check up of vaccinations have a chat with them about his weight and fur.
Hello King looks gorgeous
As Laura has said have a chat with the vet about the fur if you are worried, but his weight is not much different from my two at that age maybe a kg less than mine?
Hi, he looks in great condition to me
They will grow at different rates anyway but if for example one parents was bigger than the other he may be taking after the smaller one more or he may just grow up a little smaller. I love small labs
He looks VERY cute in your pics - very 'Marley and me
Hi Rueben8 and welcome to you and King, he is gorgeous, looks very mischievous and a typical Lab pup
My CJ was 8kg at 3 months but he`s a big boy and always has been, a lot depends on what lines King has been bred from, as said Labs are like us, they come in all shapes and sizes
