Thank you very much everyone 
I was an absolute bag of nerves and it really was touch and go with the lead walk, but thankfully the boy pulled himself together. I'm so proud of him.
The only advice I can give you Shelley is to try and stay relaxed (easy to say eh!). Blue was clearly feeding off my nerves initially, but once I thought to myself "Oh well we've blown it, never mind" and relaxed, he also relaxed and clicked into gear.
