Hello my name is Rachael and I live in East Cornwall.
I came across this site quite by chance whilst looking on the net for labrador related sites. My reason for doing this was that I lost my beautiful Black Labrador girl Jasmine the Sunday before Christmas 2010 at the grand old age of 13!
She was my world, and she absolutely adored my 2 sons aged 5 and 2, even though she was my 1st baby so to speak! Sure she got jealous every now and again but the extent of her jealousy was just a big black head poking up between a human group hug as if to say "don't forget me!"
My eldest son misses her dearly, as do I, and hopefully we will have another Labrador in our house in the not too distant future!
I'm not exactly wanting a puppy as there are dogs out there who deserve a loving forever home who maybe have not had the chance so far! I have been registered with the Labrador Rescue in the South West since March but to date the right dog for my family has not become available. I will just have to watch this space and prey that it will not be long before I can get another Labrador in my house! The most truely loving, unconditional, affectionate, fun loving dog I have ever had the pleasure of owning!
Hi rachael, sorry about the loss of Jasmine.
I know exactly how you are feeling and in my opinion, you are right to look for another lab. good luck in your search.
Take Care.
Gary and Toby.
Hi Rachel,so sorry to hear about Jasmine, she was clearly very loved and its awful when they go.Even though i have 3 kids, our house seemed very empty when we lost our chocolate boy.Hope you find the right dog soon,im sure you will.We now have a 5month old black boy now and he's completed our little family (for now, would love another lab when he's a bit older) take care xx
Hi and welcome to LF, I`m sorry to hear about Jasmine, its so hard when you lose a furry friend of many years.
Be patient, the right dog for you and your family is out there somewhere and it will be oh so worth it when s/he eventually arrives, the big rescues take great care to be sure they`ve placed dogs with the right families, that way there`s less chance of the dog coming back and adding to the trauma it may already have been through
Hello and welcome Rachel very sorry about Jasmine I know they leave behind quite a hole
Hopefully it wont be too long before you find the perfect Lab for your family xx
