Spotted a link to the old fella while reading on a local forum, lab welfare sheffield have been informed about him (so hopefully he should have a rescue place soon) but just thought i would post a link here for him just incase anyone here is able to help him.
I would love to help him myself but with 3 young children and big daft pup, we wouldnt be the right place for him.
Have offered rescue space if none can be found locally-would have to go on a begging mission with all you good folks to help out with transport though!!!!

OH WOW!! thank you!! thank you!! SOOOOOO much! i cant stop thinking about this fella!! im a sucker for an oldie!
I will help with transport if i can, im happy drive him within 1.5 hours (ish) of sheffield if this helps at all.
June (lab welfare)usually remembers us getting Diesel from Lab welfare. Hes known as the dog who ripped down the blinds still
Im an approved foster for the Oldies club.
I'd be more than happy to offer the dog a foster home if one is needed.
You know you lots are just so bloody BRILLIANT!! it actually brings a lump to my throat !!!!
I have had this old fella on my mind for the last 2 days! cant believe i didnt actually think to post here sooner. I had a right ding dong with my other half friday night because i tried to talk him into going to get him! He was right we have 3 children (plus our eldest has Autism) the youngest is only 2 and an 11mth old loopy labby!! we would have been out of our depth!
Do you think i would be ok for me to contact the pound tomorrow morning and ask if they have contacted June? and would it be appropriate to ask them why if they haven't? i believe that the guys that work at the Sheffield pound are actually a really hard working caring bunch. I dont want to stand on anyone's toes but i really hate to think of this old guy there for a moment longer than he has to be. The kennels there are so old and arnt very welcoming.
Just spoken to a young lady at the pound regarding this old boy. Ive been ask to call back tomorrow lunch time when the management are in, she seemed hopeful that they would let him go to rescue.
However i have also been intouch with a small local rescue Rains Rescue and she has basically said that they no longer deal with sheffield council pound as they often want to charge them to get the dog out she also said they dont treat the dogs very well . She has however offered a temporary kennel space for him should it be need while transport is put in place.
I just want to go and get him, but i know if i pay and get him out (which tbh i cant really afford atm) i would feel obligated to do the same for every oldie that pulled on my heart strings. When all said and done i am just a mother of 3 young children with a massive soft spot for an oldie.
