To begin with sig pics have a size limit of 300X300 pixels, this is for a couple of reasons, one is so that excessive bandwidth isn`t used and also to help facilitate those that have slow connections and some on dial up.
Of course not all pics are square so, when you put it in your paint program to resize use 300 on the smallest figure that appears in the box, have it set to keep to aspect ratio and it`ll do it so it looks ok.
If you have Windows 7 Windows Paint is pretty good these days and will resize in pixels.
If you don`t have Windows 7, I recommend Paint.NET, this is a FREE program and is good for editing and resizing pics.
Choose the pic you want to use in your sig, click on it so it enlarges, then right click on it and select properties (fig 1)
(fig 1)
When the properties box comes up you`ll see a URL this starts with http:// and ends in .jpg or sometime .gif (if its animated).
Highlight this by placing the mouse just before the h in http hold down the left mouse button and drag to the g in jpg, right click and select copy this will put the URL on your clipboard (don`t save anything else to it before using or it`ll wipe anything already there) (fig 2)
(fig 2)
Go to resources at the top of the page, click it and select Profile Page (fig 3)
(fig 3)
About half way down the profile page you`ll see Edit Signature, click it.(fig 4)
(fig 4)
Click on img in the sig area (fig 5)
(fig 5)
Hold the mouse between ] in [img] and the [ in [/img] and right click and select paste(fig 6 and 7)
Note, If you don`t put the link in correctly it won`t work.
(fig 6)
Click preview and if the link has worked you`ll see the pic you chose, once your happy click save and it will show in your posts all the time, to change it follow these instructions but highlight the link already there and paste the new one in.
(fig 7)
Hopefully you now have a pic showing in your posts , if you have any problems please PM me and I`ll try to help sort it out.

I'm stuck as anything....I have added numerous sig pics over the years and never had the slightest problem but it stubbornly won't let me for mine or Allans sig pics... the pic is TINY too....
I just tried mine in the body of the thread to see if it was just because the picture was too big for a siggie pic and can't get it to work in that either so has to be something else....??? help please!

Can this be done with the [img] code from photobucket?
Apologies, I hadn`t seen this til today, the answer to your question is yes, I believe photobucket give you a choice of URL`s to copy and paste, not sure on that though as I don`t use it myself
Di, the only reason I can think of is that your link doesn`t end in .jpg or .gif, the former being a still and the latter an animation.
I`m afraid I`m using a machine I`ve borrowed from Noah atm and its as slow as slow can be, I`m hoping my hard drive for my other laptop will arrive tomorrow, if it does and I can get its all set up I`ll have another look at it and see what I can suss out.
Sadly this thread was for the "new" albums that appeared after the server change, I will be doing one for this one once I have a better machine on the go
Nope, sadly adding .jpg doesn't change it ;-( I really don't get it. Its so odd because its just the way i've always done it. And whats even more strange is my picture of Bondy showed till yesterday then suddenly vanished NOT when the crash happened, how wierd is that??
