George is so much better on the fish4dogs! He was beginning to get bad bouts of dandruff on the eukanuba but that stopped on the fish4dogs and he has the shiniest coat! He has also calmed down a lot and is able to concentrate with fewer bum tuck moments, but could be a bit restless at class (saying that he still passed with flying colours). I have also noticed he doesn't pick up pebbles the same on fish4dogs as he used to on eukanuba but that could be that we have just changed his food when he happens to have a break in his teething.

We are currently trying him on a mix of fish4dogs and skinners as the fish4dogs is a bit pricey for the long term, (£55 for 15kg) but he does so well on it I might have to work on my husband, as I like meat to be the fist ingredient. Seems odd to me to have a grain as the first thing on the ingredients list. Saying that he seems to be doing ok on the skinners mix. We are having to move him over to that as we wait for his next bag of fish4dogs so we shall see.

Glad to hear max has done well on his RC. Don't suppose you know if charities will take opened bags of dog food? We still have loads of eukanuba left (roughly 3kg left in a 15kg bag and a unopened 3kg bag)

Glad that george is doing well bet he is getting big now Max has stopped chewing as many stones lately too I did wonder if it was when he was teething He is still doing well on the RC Labrador retriever he got weighed monday gone he was 24.4 kg but the vets said that is because he is a big lab and he is the perfect shape for the show breed Very Happy. I think local cat dog shelter will normally take dog food not sure on the open one though.

Cheryl

P.S be nice to see you and George again some time

It's definitely a case of what suits one won't necessarily suit the other Laughing I had Bella on RC Junior, but she always had these slightly squelchy poo's ... not the easiest thing to pick up. I have recently changed her over to Burns Lamb & Rice adult, and the difference is fantastic ... Poo Patrol is no longer the burden it once was Very Happy

She also gets half a pack of Naturediet a day, which she gets stuffed and frozen in a kong This also seems to be agreeing with her regardless of which flavour I choose (although her favourite is Turkey & rabbit).

I'm definitely in the camp of if it works and get's eaten then why change? Bella isn't a particularly fast eater either, regardless of what she is fed, but she definitely loves her food and would never turn down a meal or a treat!

wow 24.4kg! I need to take George to the vets to get him weighed. Last time we took him he was 15kg but that was over a month ago, he feels a lot heavier now and I struggle to lift him!. I don't George will ever be as big as Max because he is a show x field type with more field in him.

Would be nice to get together again, at least George won't be so petrified this time! he is still a bit nervous when other dogs approach but he relaxes pretty quickly now. His puppy class has really helped. Do need to get him meeting and playing with other dogs more often as he doesn't really have any doggy manners, but he had a persistent infection in his eyes for about 1 month, and I think he has just had a mild bout of kennel cough from somewhere but that seems to be well on the way now, but don't want to arrange any meetings for at least a week after he has stopped sneezing in case he gives it to someone else's dog. There were no big pools of frothy snot only clear "snot" but he has been sneezing and a few bouts of hacking, but that's all stopped now thankfully. Doggy snot on the back of your leg when you have only just woken is if not nice!

I do the stuffed kong but with the fish4dogs salmon paste. George goes mental for it! Mind you he goes mad for his regular kibble in his wobbler (he's turned out to be a bit of a hoover when it comes to his regular meals and his wobbler keeps him occupied for a few minutes) Have to say his wobbler has been the best treat/toy we have given him yet.

I have tried some recipes from badleys kitchen but he hasn't got the idea that you have to chew it to get the filling out, He tends to uses his kong like a miniature wobbler.

TBH - difficult though it might be to believe, some Labs are picky / slow eaters - my Hope is - coincidence that she is Max's dad's half brother Laughing Laughing maybe / maybe not Very Happy

If she is at a show / training - she is always quickest to the treat though Wink

I switched mine onto Simpsons Premium Salmon and Potato - partly because of the reviews on here, and partly because of my own coeliac - but it took me a while to find a food affordable for 7 dogs, as we go through around a bag a week.

Well Hope never looked back - she couldn't it down fast enough and even started finishing her food before the others Shocked They all go nuts for it.

Having said all that - TBH - I actually prefer it when my dogs eat slower - not something I am ever going to hope for with the rest of my mottley crew Rolling Eyes

We had terrible problems with Hope until she was pregnant - real little fusspot she was - then she would literally eat anything - we thought we had turned a corner - but nope, she went back to her old ways after the babies.

Then we introduced the Simpsons and WOW is all I can say - I've never seen such a transformation in a dogs eating habits Shocked
