Labradors can be very difficult pups around the house, one of the worst diggers, chewers and hand biters. But they are also one of the most trainable, the reason why they are the world's top gundog. So dont start with the negative. There is nothing too difficult in teaching a dog to walk reasonably on the lead, and over the course of time the subject has been discussed on here so many time. Why do people have so many problems? Several reasons, but the biggest reason is not being consistent. If you are in too much of a rush to be consistent then leave your pup at home! I also believe paying someone else to walk your dog is a reason in some cases. Heelwork training is YOUR responsibility, not the dog walker, and if the dog walker is not consistent and working the same as you then your beaten before you start.
