I've got two here with white flashes on their chests - if you didn't know they were there, you could almost miss it - you also occasionally see dogs in the ring with it - but as someone pointed out - particularly difficult to pick out on a yellow - but I have seen the occasional choc and black out there with one - if that's the pup you want to keep, then keep it Wink

Indi has a little white patch on her chest. She was the only one in the litter to have it and thats how we told her apart. She also has a little white patch near her nipples too. I love it and when the vet had to shave it off for her spay i cried! I made 1 vet ultrasounding indi's kidneys keep it i love it that much. It isnt as prominent now as it use to be and has gotten smaller as she has grown. I think its a personal preference. I think its rather a cute little quirk and it doesnt harm them in anyway i think it gives a bit more of a character to the dogs and is always a conversation piece whenever new people see it!! They all comment how its "unusual" to see a dog with a white patch on such a dark coloured dog but Indi is well Indi and has always been a bit unusual. I love it on her and wouldnt change it for the world.

Here are some photos of indi's patches

You can see from the puppy one its quite predominant but now you can barely see it on her chest where all her hair meets.

This is after she had an infection in her dew claw. This is also the dew claw after she managed to pull it off!!Always has a little white patch there now a little reminder of her past antics!

You can just see the white patch between her nipples

you can just see the white patch on her chest between her 2 front legs

the white patch on her chest close up

But to be honest white is SO common that infact any line can produce it. A great Show sire 'Ch Kupros Master mariner' was 'meant' to have thrown a heck of a lot of white stars on chests, so many that they were called 'mariner stars'. But you see them so commonly on lines not closely related to Mariner that its just a 'labrador' thing. Which is why it is acceptable in the breed standard. Chances are if it WAS line specific it would not be.

Indi has Kupros Master Mariner so maybe thats where hers came from!!!

Loving the first pic of Indi, it really looks like she is grinning, beautiful

It's Digger's ears that really grabbed my fancy! He constantly looks like he's dipped them in fox red paint!! Gorgeous!

Both mine have got white patches on their paws. Luna grows back black hair after an injury. She has a few odd white hairs speckling her in random places all over her. Tucker doesn't!
