Good! Read the stickies at the top of the puppy section they're really good and whilst it will take you a while to read them it is definately worth it. Keep posting. Very Happy

Hi and welcome.

Best advice I ever had, we had one set up before Buddie came home at 8 weeks and am so glad we did.
I would advise everyone to use one, a great peace of mind thing as well.
I knew he wouldn't get up to mischief or hurt himself when we were out.
Good luck with your puppy x

It is fine to leave them crated overnight. You might need to get up a couple of times in the night for toilet breaks in the garden in the early days, but that should soon settle down.

The problems only occur when people leave them crated for hours on end during the day as well, with little or no other stimulation. Overnight is fine though. We always did that.

We've crated Finn since the very first day - 8 weeks. After a couple of interrupted nights he went right through from about 10.00pm to 6.00am. He only soiled for about 2 weeks intermittently and has been clean ever since. He's 20 weeks now and goes to bed at around 9.45pm and we are up at between 6.00 & 6.45am. We try to take him most places during the day but when we can't he's quite happy for an hour or two in the crate. We know he's safe and he just sleeps. Recommend it every time.

Best thing I ever did was to crate Arley he loved his and when we decrated him at 11 months he was lost for a few days. I closed the door if I went out and at night apart from that it was left open it was like a den for him. house training was quick and I did not come home to a destroyed kitchen after a visit to the shops. If you have a crate don t forget to buy a water bowl that fits on the side at the same time I got mine from ebay Good luck!!
