I know how you feel, it's been almost a year now since I went anywhere in the house alone, I had a friend stay over during summer and he must have found Bracken following me into the bathroom quite strange but he didn't say anything.
Lux is my permanent shadow but I dont mind at all He seams to think his place is constantly at my side!
Bea only follows if she thinks food might be on the cards
Lincoln has been doing this for the past 3 years.... ..he was a rescue and I thought he may grow out it.. ..Unfortunately he has taught Lester that this is normal behviour although I'm sure Lester wouldn't have done it to the degree Lincoln does.
I have got used to it now and they have trained me to the point I think they are up to no good if they don't follow me around..
Harvey is a follower. Indy just chills quite happily by himself, but Harvey has to be with myself or my husband at all times, except at night thankfully!
My neighbours even commented on how he was howling while I was out. They were surprised when I said I hadn't been out, I was just upstairs and he was downstairs with just Indy for company. He's very slightly better than he was when we got him, but he's not insecure. He just really, really wants to be with us. I've even broken my longstanding rule of no dogs on the sofa, because in the evening he will only settle if he's laid with his head on my lap. He'll sleep then, otherwise he's like a cat, never really turning off!
Grouse is contented to stay and wait for me to come back. Fern is a right one for following me EVERYWHERE! and like you she always has to come into the loo with me ... and stare at me! Normally I amm also joined by Henry so there really is no peace! I think Fern is just that type of dog, busy, nosy, a bit insecure. Neither dog is allowed upstairs and she seems fine with that arrangement. The only thing I am starting to clamp down hard on is her constant need to sniff my face and Henry's! I have no idea why she does it but it does drive me nuts
