The b*****d who hit her drove off. someone found her and drove her to vets but her injuries weren't healing. ON monday 22 august my beautiful baby girl was put to sleep. she died in my arms and I just don't know how I will get over it. Please help.x
Its so difficult loosing a young pet. At least when they are old you can except that its maybe their time (not that its any less of a loss) but when they are young you have the added shock of the lost time with them. I lost my first dog when she was 10, it was sudden and I was only 11 and had grown up with her always being around. But when I lost my 1.5 year old cat after she was hit by a car (we suspected) I was 22 and just absolutely devastated. I felt like we were giving up on her and that we were somehow not being fair, but then I thought about the alternative life she would have had and I don't think she would have been happy or healthy and I now know we did the right thing by letting go of her while she was still comfortable; the nerves at the base of her tail had been overstretched and permanently damaged so even if we had her leg pinned back together and had her tail amputated, we would still have to empty her bladder for her 3 times a day for the rest of her life.
I used to cry about her months afterwards when I was having a low moment, but you do smile and laugh when you remember all the funny little things they did. Mya used to play retrieve like a dog and luckily I caught it on video. I can now watch it and I don't cry anymore. Try to focus on the happy moments.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I was totally choked just reading this. It's unbearable when you lose a dog and a friend, but always remember the good times x
