Held in Englefield Deer Park - such a lovely day with all of the competitors and judges being so nice all the way through what was a marathon of a day. Had I have known I wouldnt have entered Charlie to URC Bucks on Sunday as the poor dog was just knackered Smile

Test 1 - our group started with this test. It was a blind with no shot about 70 yards away. Bit tricky for wind plus it was a sea of mint covering the ground.

Test 2 - From the judge, walk dog off lead at heel to a post, sit the dog and leave at the post, walk half way out to another post and throw the dumy, walk back, collect the dog and walk back to the judge, dog was sent from the judge to the retrieve but obviously from a completely different angle and gound still in heave mint cover.

Test 3 - mark in thistle/mint cover, sent on dogs number, then back to same place for another dummy. (Charlie decided to stop for two craps on the way to the 2nd dummy Rolling Eyes )

Test 4 - Mark thrown right into cover, mark out in front landing in a pond, both with shot. Couldnt see fall of water one but luckily Charlie marked second and heard splash of first.

Test 5 - two dog walk-up, I lost marks here as I gave him a couple of back commands.

Test 6 - walk to heel, shot fired and mark thrown over the water and onto river bank other side.

Test 7 - Mark in water, then blind down a track beside the water

Judges were Mr I Scutter, Mrs M J Opie, Mr P Scott and Mrs L Bailey

I was absolutely delighted that he completed ALL 7 tests, we lost marks but one of the judges kindly came over afterwards to say what a lovely dog he was, how it knew what to do but that I had to calm myself down and not panic so much Smile

Our total score was 105 and I was absolutely chuffed to bits with him as it was such a long day - we finally left at 5.15pm having started at 9.30.

As they were near we did URC Bucks the following day and to be honest I was pleased with him considering, he pulled two zeros under the same judge but I was pleased he did all the other tests.

Saturday really was such a lovely day for what was only our third test ever Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I must've missed this thread at the time.
