Sunni and I went along to our 3rd ND/NH test today (Bucks URC) held at Stonor Park, Henley on Thames.

A really lovely day but I must say that I thought the tests were really quite challenging compared to the last two previous ND/NH tests I have done with Sunni. Much longer distances involved and lots of very long grass/cover! The other tests were a breeze compared to this one! Shocked Rolling Eyes

A basic write-up of the 6 tests! (Probably not completely accurate I'm afraid as its all a been rather a blur today as I was so nervous)! Rolling Eyes

Test 1
Mark with shot into long grass. Sunni marked well and flew out but upon picking the dummy, he hesitated and had a good look at the dummy thrower who was standing very closeby! I panicked and blew the recall whistle!

Test 2
Mark into long grass/cover towards left, then a blind in same area - Sunni had no problem with the mark but on the blind went out a bit too far so some handling

Test 3
Double mark - shot fired each time and 2 dummies thrown out into long grass. Handler to pick which dummy to pick first and then send for the other retrieve - Sunni did both brilliantly Very Happy

Test 4
Mark with shot into long grass - Sunni marked well and picked with no problems

Test 5
Blind up a track but dummy placed to the right of track in long grass - Sunni overshot the blind but winded it and picked with no problems

Test 6
2 dog walk up
Other dog was sent for first retrieve, Sunni stayed steady. He marked well and flew out with no problems for our retrieve and lovely delivery.

All finished and time for tea and cakes - phew I thought but then I hear my number is suddenly called for a run-off! Shocked Confused Grabbed Sunni and off we went again - my knees were literally knocking, I could hardly walk over to the judge and of course you have no idea what placing you are competing for! Shocked Run-off was for a blind, not an easy distance and no shot! Sent Sunni but he kept pulling left, so had to handle him onto the blind. He reacted beautifully though to all my commands even though I was seriously panicking and nerves shot to threads! Very Happy

Results - Well I still can't really believe it but we only went and won!!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Absolutely over the moon with my boy and it feels so fantastic to win such a challenging ND/NH test, it was certainly a tough one today! Very Happy Was so taken aback at winning, the details of the other placings have just been lost in my brain, sorry!

Here's my fabulous boy showing off his win! Very Happy
