Here's a good one. Had someone fully pay for a puppy, wanted to pick the pup up a week ago, but haven't heard anything back from them for about 3 weeks. They went on holiday for two weeks, so that would explain some of it. They haven't given the pup a name so at 11 weeks he's still called pup or purple, after the puppy collar he used to wear.
What do I do? Keep waiting and hope they'll turn up eventually? Or keep the money and look at reselling the pup on? I really would like him to go, as I want to get on with crate training the 2 staying. At 11 weeks, they've missed the best age.
I agree. I would probably start with leaving a message on their phone today saying you do urgently need to speek to them, you are worried you have not heard from them and want to check they are ok. I would also say while you are happy to keep the puppy for another week that if you have not heard from them by Monday 22nd you will need to find the puppy a home. I too would then send them the same by recorded mail tomorrow.
What you would do about money, I don't know.
If you've an email address then I'd send an email as well, people often check them from their mobile phones while they're away. Set the email so you get a delivered and/or read receipt.
I agree with Celine that you should send a letter, recorded delivery. They're seriously taking the 'you know what' by the sounds of it.
Thank goodness the majority of puppy buyers are lovely people, it's just a shame there are some that completely do your head in

Have left messages, and emailed 3 different email accounts I have for them. I am happy to look after the little blighter, as long as he leaves my turf alone. (Don't ask, but not happy about the mess he made...)
I could send them a recorded letter, but think I'll see what Monday brings and then make a decision next week end, when the last one goes. We know about him, and had agreed to keep him until 12 weeks.
As to the free training. I reckon you might be right there John. He will be house trained, and about to walk short distances on a lead, sits beautifully, waits for his dinner, so yes, quite a bit of free training. They have also been fully vaccinated, including Kennel Cough, which is prevalent around here at the moment.
Sounds as if you and the puppy owners have got your 'picking up puppy time' wires crossed I've got two puppies which are both being picked up later due to pre-booked holiday but in both cases I know exactly when they're being picked up.
I'd give them a ring and sent them an email just asking/confirming the time for picking up - I'd doubt that they've forgotten they've bought a puppy You need to have things absolutely sorted out with these buyers before going down the re-selling route.

Hmm, I too would go the recorded delivery letter route. When it comes to vaccinating any late stayers, I only arrange for them to be vaccinated after asking the buyers and making sure that they're aware they need to pay for it - I'm very happy to get it all arranged for them but never without taking to the buyers first.
