Delphi's a gobbler too. She literally inhales her food so that when she's finished she looks hugely bloated and walks around reverse-sneezing and snorting until all the air is out her system. She now has half a brick in her bowl that she has to eat around - it really has slowed her down and she doesn't inhale as much air while she's eating.

Having a gobbler took me by surprise as Laika used to be a very sedate and slow eater before D came on the scene.

I am just imagining this......she must feel so uncomfortable after!

Thanks everyone you have all made me feel better and I will try and slow her down somehow. I definitely have to feed her separate as I think there would be either a big dog fight or she'd have 3 meals in one go!........

I just need a happy medium between them all as Clio and Bono eat sometimes and Skye eats like nobody's ever fed her! Laughing

When Ellie arrived 3 weeks ago from the rescue aged nearly 7 months - she ate her meals in nano seconds and would try and scoff the food before the bowl hit the ground.

She now sits and waits it's taken about 10 days for her to realise that no one is going to pinch her food and she is much slower. I was tempted to get a gobbler bowl or something similiar but as yet haven't needed to.

I've bought Nell an anti-gulp bowl (was £8.99 from Wilkinsons online)

It hasn't stopped her from attacking the food like she's never been fed, but it has slowed down the amount she can get to.

Much better than before though, because she would sometimes eat so fast she would choke it back - and then eat it again Rolling Eyes
