Solly is 2 and half and still on 3 meals. He had all sorts of tummy problems as a pup and would get the 'hungry sicks' in the morning that Angela mentioned.
I adjusted his feed to suit and still now has a light lunch of fish4dogs salmon mousse sachet/sardines with fruit or a bonio.
It suits his tummy and we very rarely have any tummy problems now....that is reserved for when he eats fox poo xx

I actually just leave the dried food out all the time. Yes they do go a bit overboard when they first come here and see it but even Bud (who spent a long time surviving on the streets on his own) calmed down within a week and just had a nibble here and there.
With multiple dogs it does mean I cannot measure how much each one eats, but they are all in good condition, not under or over weight. I did once do a rough calculation based on all their weights and the amount they should be eating a day and it worked out they were not actually having enough (mind you, they do get a raw mince breakfast as well).

I would cut his portions down too - 470g is a lot IMO and likely just making extra poop
I'd probably also move to adult rather than large breed puppy, it will be less rich and easier to tolerate in bigger meals.
Every dogs different but I would think you're nowready to move to more maintenace sized portions, mine have 300g a day (I think plenty of dogs have 350-400g)

I just looked at the food bag again, and it shows levels going up gradually until 12 months, then tailing back down again at 12-18 months (we are 7.5 months).
They obviously recognise at some point you lower the levels, so we are going to give it a try now giving him less overall, a little bit more relatively in the morning when he is starving, gradually reduce the lunchtime amount, and feed pm at 5.30 to give him time to digest the evening meal.
Thanks Sarah - I am still in two minds about moving off the puppy large breed at the mo, but I have looked at some of Wainwright's other adult versions that don't raise the calcium too much and we might go that route.
