I can't really add anything to the advice you have been given - other than to say -
You have absolutely NO idea what type of mother your bitch will make until those pups start appearing.
Then - it's too late to panic and wonder how the hell you are going to cope with up to 14 pups that mum doesn't want to know - or worse still, if she dies in labour or decides she wants to try and kill her pups - and yes - all these scenarios MAY happen - she could be a right little mother earth - but she might not be - you won't know until those babies are here - by then it's too late to do anything about it.
All my bitches are entire as are my dogs - I've got one here I will never breed from - aside from her health test results being unsatisfactory - my gut instincts tell me she wouldn't be good mother material - in a peverse sort of way - nature made the decision for me so that I never had to find out.
As others have said - having a bitch spayed or leaving it entire are not inextricably linked with whether you decide to breed from her or not.
