Those names bring back a fair few memories for me too John. Not all of them but most of them .
Doing a Sylvia Bishop course with a Weimaraner was an interesting concept at the time .

I remember stewarding in the pouring rain for John Singleton at Ruislip so long ago. Paddy Burn ran a wonderful handler course back in the 1970’s. I’d guess these old masters would all be dead by now. Andy died about 20 years back shortly after judging the Obedience at Crufts for the second time. His wife Hetty is still around. I was talking to her earlier this year and she was telling me that at 90 she had decided to give up the dog club her and Andy started 50 years earlier! (You might well know them Jill, from when you were at Marlow.) I often stewarded for Andy, or an old mate Vern Stevens. I’ve not seen Carol and Jim Lennon for several years, not since they moved.
My last foray into Obedience was stewarding for the Flatcoated Retriever Society Open show and the Berkshire Downs Golden Retriever Club show, must be 15 years ago now. I’m too old and my hips don’t take kindly to it now.
Regards, John
