When I have to be in or near a picnic area then I know I simply cannot trust Charlie off the lead. He is now 7 and his recall is usually pretty reasonable, but I have to say that other people's picnics are just too great a temptation. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

His lead is one which is of normal length for the usual type of walks, but can be lengthened to about 6 feet, allowing him just enough freedom to sniff around a bit, whilst giving me enough control should it be necessary.

We called in to a birthday party this evening - in the field where we normally have flyball to great excitement as we pulled up already.

All stayed onlead!!!!

Jed - found a tennis ball and was happily playing with that (dragging the young man who wanted to hold him round the field!)

Bo - made a beeline for Sheryl who was beside the tent and gave him cake. Thought he was then trying to get into the tent where food was but turned out to be trying to climb up the guy rope to the balloon tethered there.

China - no good trying to look innocent madame - you were trying to get through the flyscreen on the tent to the food.

Cassie had been kidnapped to sit on Lydia's lap and Reggie was standing by me being scared but managed to get up enough courage to accept a bit of cake from Sheryl.
