Cheers Di,

That's what my Dane friends have said too! Very Happy I just hope everything goes right next spring as I'm ripping out the garden and making a smashing kennel and run system and a dog friendly garden. Cool It will look a bit funny if there are no pups to grace it. Confused

I have looked into this re Grouse ... The latest I would even consider it would be 5 for a first litter.

That would be a '40 something' first time mum in human terms Celine Wink Probably fine physcially, but Grouse's pups friends would keep asking 'is that your granny?' when Grouse picked them up from school.... Wink Wink

My both litters I did, both bitches were nearly 5 years old..
No Problem at all.
And I don't think there is a difference if a bitch does her first or her last litter with what age ever

Well my job hours are changing soon so I will have more time off to spend with Mildred and to get the timings just right. Her next season will give me some idea as to when she will be due for her first season in 2012 so fingers crossed it will be a go'er with Mildred only 3 years and ten months old-ish. The wife has just informed me that I have been making out Mildred is older than she is.... Sad . I don't know about these sort of things....I can't even remember the wife's birthday for heavens sake! Haha! I'm not going to though. I don't think I want another so soon after getting fern and I worry about grouses allergies, although the man who bred her wants to breeds from her (very well respected A panel judge), I think I'll wait until I have more experience and time (Henry would still be pre full time school - im not sure it would be fair on everyone and besides, the oho might be nothing like grouse anyway).
P.s. My husband is always being mistaken for my dad! So I know what he pups would feel like Very Happy Laughing
