Smokey was 5 days away from his first birthday and I just can't understand why he was taken. We woke up to him making a howling noise. I thought he was just having a bad dream or something but then he stopped breathing and died. It all happened in minutes. He didnt show that anything was wrong with him at all even 3 hrs before it happened and was his usual self. Is this something that happens with labradors? I just feel so lost and numb with the shock that hes not around anymore. I loved him so much! Dont think I still quite believe it.

OMG that is sooo sad. We just lost ours to cancer but he was 9 but it must be devastating to see a young lab go like that.

So so sorry to read about Smokey Sad Cannot begin to imagine what you are going through.

I certainly have never heard of that happening to a labrador and have known plenty.

Will you be able to find out from the vet what happened to Smokey? It almost sounds like his heart doesn't it?

Sad Oh Gosh I'm so sorry. You must be heartbroken.

I don't think it's something in Labradors specifically, but I guess just all creatures, even us humans, some do die suddenly and very young.
