I am very tempted to try it!!

I emailed the Bioflow people to ask if they could supply a new collar for the magnet to be threaded onto but got a negative response.

That made me look at the collar and think that if I found one the right width that I could thread it onto I could save myself 25quid on a new one...

Luna's has lasted well over 2 years at the moment and the collar is starting to look very used and abused and a bit baggy now. Collar shopping for Tucker made me realise what fun I have been missing out on and it would be lovely to be able to have Luna in something other than a 'boring health' collar.

It's a shame the Bioflow people haven't picked up on what a commercial venture this could be...

So anyone tried it or have any thoughts on how possible it would be?

I did try, ages ago, but couldn't find a collar I could get the magnet to slide onto. The leather collars were too thick and the nylon ones all had clips on them, so I couldn't get the magnet over them Confused .

You're right though.....Bioflow are missing a hole in their market for more snazzy collars.

No idea, but they do have red or yellow collars if you can't work it out Wink

Might be worth seeing if you can get a cheapy collar (maybe at the pound shop or something) and experiment on that before investing in a more expensive collar Very Happy

And now seen Jules post and forgot about the clip Embarassed What about attaching it to a piece of webbing, then stitching it to a snazzier collar?

This is something I've been looking into to Surprised Because Lux has broken the D-ring on his & Bea's is looking quite tatty Rolling Eyes
I'd love to find a snazzy collar but not found any way of transferring the magnets yet Confused and they are too expensive to just throw away and replace!
I'll keep watching this post to see if anyone has any good brainwaves Razz

Hmmm - think I may have to do some experimentation and probably some sewing! I don't walk Luna using the Bioflow so the ability to withstand pulling isn't needed....

I was looking at Tucker's new collar thinking that if I snipped it where it connects to the sliding size adjusting bit, I could slide off the bit that goes in the bucklebone and then slide on magnet, bucklebone connecting bit and resew together end as it was before (sewing machine can come out of hibernation!). The collar would be a bit shorter so would need to buy a longer one.

I've just emailed them to let them know the gap in the market! And if things don't work out I think a new colour bioflow one will be needed!

Laura - not having had a bioflow myself but have just checked up on the website at it's design! I think your plan would work .... you could use non toxic fabric glue, then once dry stitch it it would reinforce the area.

I have been looking at all the jazzy collars today and I have bought a couple but I am seriously having a think about making some as I already make bags I can get the supplies of d-rings and clips and buckles!!

Let me know how you get on...

I think I am about to trial something!

I'm thinking at the moment that I'll get a Large Red Dingo collar which is bigger than the magnets width and attach the magnet on the underside of this collar using either a piece of the old collar or similar and lots of heavy stitching. Because there will be a lot of adjustment in the large

Even with having to get Luna a new wider collar tag to fit on the wider new collar Rolling Eyes it would be cheaper than getting a new bioflow collar (which they only have in yellow or green and Luna is a pink/purple/red girl!) ... and of course getting a new matching lead is an 'extra luxury' that isn't factored in at all!!

I do like Tucker's Red Dingo and poor Luna looks tatty and neglected alongside poor girlie!!

SO then the difficult decision becomes ... I like Purple Breezy Love at the moment, bits of pink, bits of red,.... would match her pin/purple fleecy harness when she's wearing that....

When you change the magnet does it matter which side is next the dog?

A collar was too weak for Megan alas, but the magnetic coat has more on so I did look into buying magnets separately online (much cheapness Wink ) then realised the insurance would pay for her magnetic coat from Bioflow.

However I did have a few questions about DIY, such as which way round - positive-negative; also presumably placement is not an issue with a collar like it would be with a coat - the coat seems to have them at acupuncture points. It certainly does the trick for her Very Happy
