Hi Hayley
I go to Lowdham occassionally but have never taken the dog
you might want to check with http://www.rambler.mistral.co.uk/ which is the ramblers association for the area and most of their walks are dog friendly.
You could also do the River Trent Pub walk -http://www.nottspubs.co.uk/walks/gunthorpewalk.html but I don't know whether the pubs allow dogs.
Are you staying in Lowdham itself can't remember when you are coming across to the UK but the village show is on the bank holiday Monday 29th August.
ETA just re read the title so you won't need to worry about Bank holiday.
Hope this is of some help.

I've been to a lovely pub in Gunthorpe before I had Luna - I'll ask Mum about Lowdham area tomorrow. We should be up for a meet around there!

And bump!

Hi Hayley, I can't think of anywhere at Lowdham, but the river Trent and many walks are all around.
Laura has already mentioned Gunthorpe, (there is a pub there) you can walk along the Trent through to Hoveringham.
Sometimes there are cows in the fields around there though, i remember about 8 years ago they chased me, Paddy and Oscar off, I have been there with Toby recently and i didn't see cows, but Toby found plenty of pats.
I might be able to come with Toby, it's 50/50 at the mo.
Take Care.
Gary and Toby.

hmm I will have a think about that one - yes there is definately a pub near the river and a motorhome dealer but I'll have to ask Mum about parks. We're avoiding the woods in the area there because of that mystery illness problem that seems to be back again.

Not right near Lowdham but an easy drive - see googlemaps (16 minutes) - Burntstump Country Park is good for a walk with dogs.

Hayley at Caythorpe which is close to Lowdham there is a public footpath across fields and a stream/dyke(not sure what you'd call it!lol)where dogs can have a swim.I've not been there for a while but it is a lovely walk. Smile There is also a village pub called the Black Horse.Dogs used to be allowed but I'm not sure if they still are.Maybe worth a phone call?
I'd love to meet up but unfortunately Milo and me will be in Devon dog/house sitting for my brother! Rolling Eyes
