I wasn't quite sure where to put this but figured this might be best!
After watching Tucker's amazing displays of leaping over walls and diving into the river on Sunday, I finally got the push I needed to sort some jumps out. I've been looking for ages but just couldn't afford anything, so had been looking at homemade jumps, but they seemed far too complicated.
Well today we discovered an outdoors store that I've never seen before and they sell all sorts of gardening, building, gundog, chicken keeping, horsey and pet stuff (my new fave shop ) and everything seemed to be quite reasonably priced too!
Whilst browsing I spotted some posts that are intended for attaching electric fencing too and remembered that during my browsing online somebody had used these for jumps. There were a few different sorts - some with hooks and some with gaps. I bought 10 with hooks and gaps for £16 and they are pink I then went to B&Q and bought 2 3m strips of 16mm plastic trunking (which fits perfectly in the gaps) for £2 and cut them to size. So we now have 3 x 1m wide jumps (for the pups) and 2 x 1.5m wide jumps for the labs.
We have had bags of fun and realised that Tucker may need some more work yet as if he is being asked to jump (even if that's only stepping over the jump) then he is too interested in the treats to concentrate Bran, bless his toes, did a few very low jumps (again, little more than stepping over) and was very pleased with himself.
The puppies were another ball game altogether At only 7.5 months old, I know they're too young to do anything too high, but this is why I think they'll take to it like ducks to water...
Anyway.
Here's Casey doing a sensible little jump....
And Moss.....
And one last one of Casey showing how high a jump she *could* have managed
Well it was a nice way for them all to dry off after splashing about in the pool again

Brilliant - we have those as sheep fencing and I used some for Grouse earlier in the year. The stuff which went horizontally was not as good as yours so I might have another look into it - as the horizontal pipe stuff you have used looks great.
Looks like they had fun....the jumps are so expensive to buy for home use this is a great way of doing it.
Those pups really are naturals! Get those kids of yours running shoes they've got a year to get fit enoughto keep up with them around a course!
And as for Tucker... hmm... I'll get that big sis he dotes on to sort him out!!!
Ingenious jumps!!
Just a lickle health and safety point for those making home-made jumps It's best if you make the pole knock-off-able when making agility jumps so that the dog doesn't have to drag weight of jump over with it and crash land when it gets it wrong. Yours are very light weight though Sarah and I imagine Tucks just took the whole of the post thing down with his barging But it could be worth putting 'the pole' just resting on the edge of the fence thingy so that if woofer bashes into the pole, the pole falls without having to take the fence poles with it.
I have been giving that some thought, Laura, don't worry The actual posts are far from lightweight as they are quite hefty plastic with great big spikes on the bottom that go into the ground. After watching Tucker attempting to barge through the poles I realised that we need to re-think and fast if he isn't just going to trash them
There are some hooky bits on the poles as well so I may just use that rather than the slots
