none of them labradors but 3 elderly dogs possibly going on lifetime foster - different homes - (new people pay the "running costs" we cover any illness) and one of the overlooked type dogs (big, black, mongrel, 3 yrs old) is being discussed tonight as a possible new family member by a couple who met him today......
PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE let it work out for these dogs, one in particular is not doing well in kennels.

Lifetime foster is exactly what it says on the tin - the dog is adopted as per normal into a forever home BUT in view of any possible health worries with an older dog we say we will pay medical bills for illness...... takes the worry of the older dog getting a home away (especially as the people offering for 2 of those are little old ladies on pensions).
It does mean we have to try and keep a largish chunk of money safe in case it is needed, but if it gets the dogs a home and out of kennels then it is worth it.
