I dont know about walk it but yes he should have done better than he did, but it wouldnt have helped with me being all silly and nervous.
Irene a Safari test is what you have been to, where you walk to one test wait your turn and then go to another test. Where as the walk up is just that dogs and handlers all walk up in a line and the judge tells you when to send your dog.
Huge well done to you Julia and Reiffel for your Award. That sounded like a very challenging Novice
Mo, have also been there on the lining up thing and remember well thinking to myself 'I'm aiming my dog for disaster, WTF am I doing?!' but doing it anyway but as you know, you don't have to do more than one of these to not do it again! You guys did so well, you must be thrilled.
Loved the rabbit hole story Kazz. I too would've gone to pieces.
Also well done to you Lorraine. It's bloomin hard running two dogs. It sounds like you had a very constructive day
It was quite funny the rest of them missed it, due to how the line was angled at the time - I'm sure they would still be laughing now. Mind you, I would laugh at anything
One thing that I did forget to say and that is, how dissappointed I was that little Rohan didn't get through to round Three. I thought that she deserved it, but I wasn't judging and they may have seen something I didn't. Sure her time will come though
Thanks everyone, we all had a great day, and learned a lot from the experience.
Mo you know I was gutted for you, Boots had run so well all day and I thought he was up there with the best. You will get there, I have absolute faith in both of you . The more I’ve thought about it the more I agree with you about the difficulty, B&B are notorious for it and they do ask a lot of novice dogs, those ones across the gully through the bracken - *gulp* - I thought he had vanished forever!
I think that all four of us have had a successful season with our dogs and as well as the disappointments we have all at some point had something to celebrate (some of us just had to wait longer than others ). Next year we have the ice maiden and more “half pint” to look forward to as well , Rohan is an absolute credit to your patience and perseverance Lorraine. Sampson I fear will always keep you on your toes
I was well chuffed for Kazz too that Skye managed not to run in - hopefully once her hormones settle down you'll see the best of her again
Right then, back to training...
