I am just sitting here copying health test certificates for my puppy packs (while its raining) and started to wonder how many trees I am going to get through Rolling Eyes .

Having both sire and dam who are clear by parentage for PRA and CNM means that copies of the granddam and grandsires' certificates have to be included too and at the moment it seems endless and I've only managed the sire so far Shocked .

I think I will have to invest in some recycled paper Laughing Laughing .

Would it be acceptable to use a printout from the KC database instead, which shows both parents' health test results, or aren't they all on it? (I know they don't include EIC)

Don't health tests show on the pups KC papers under sire and dam.....Lynda might correct me but I think Nells do.

Just wondering if that would suffice for puppy owners (alongside being shown originals).
Do they really need copies? Might save you some time and paper.

They are shown on the KC registration papers (except EIC), but I have found that most people have actually asked for the copies as well.

Puppy buyers (or the ones I get) seem to really be doing there homework and wanting copies of just about everything which I can't blame them for, but its quite a time consuming job.

They also seem to be confused by something the Kennel Club have on there website about hip scoring, but I haven't had time to investigate further. I have had two people asking why the pups haven't been hip scored Shocked Shocked and when I explained that this isn't done until they are at least a year old, they have said they read on the KC Site that pups should be scored!!

Sarah, you're partly right Very Happy some of them are on there but some - mainly some of the DNA tests - are still not showing on the papers. They're getting better at it but things like the BVA eye cert. doesn't always seem to have been updated by the time of when the KC print the papers Sad Also when you're a ABS breeder you're supposed to hand out the copies anyway.

The size of the puppy folder is getting beyond belief Rolling Eyes I need to get started on mine too as I need to get the stud dog owner to send me copies of the dog's certificates - would be nice if it would be possible to get a 'central' print out but don't think that is possible/allowed at the moment

I photocopy everything for everyone too, but thats the joy of working in an office Wink Simples! Wink

Next time round, i've decided though, as long as the KC have the sire and dams tests all listed on their website, I will change to just showing the certificate originals at the buyers visits, and then copying the current eye certificate (which is SURE to be out of date on the KC website, they always are!).

I have a feeling Natasha is right Di it does say somewhere that Accredited Breeders are to supply copies of the health test certificates. Mind you I guess that is probably only the health tests we have to have in place?

Maybe I will just mention the little problem I had this time round registering my litter (Huge Guffaws of Laughter). Yes I had problems again even though I thought I had every single eye dotted and t crossed.

Would you believe I had an email to say my litter could not be registered under the Accredited Breeders Scheme because the Stud Dog is not Microchipped Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked ???

Luckily this time round (the 3rd time) I managed to retain my sense of humour and just sent the microchip number through to them to be added to the database. Wink

There is still lots of ironing out to be done on this Scheme, as of course the stud dogs microchip number was plastered all over every health test certificate that he has Shocked .
