A recent post about an overweight lad, brought me to post this picture of Wilma.
Jules had a very good guide... Ribs should be covered by a sheet, not a quilt, and I think you will be able to see that in Wilma's case, this is true..... BUT... She weighs over 38kg...
She is, in my eyes, totally gorgeous, but she is also quite a substantial bitch, but not over done and that is what I have been trying to aim for.. She is also the quickest, over a 100 metres, of my pack..
Wilma looks totally spot on and perfect to me.
A perfect specimen.
It's like humans with this bmi index, it doesn't take into account body type at all, according to the bmi index, Jonny Wilkinson (the rugby player) is clinically obese.
Take Care.
Gary and Toby.

You are spot on and as I am a fitness instructer, this subject, to ignorant folks, really bugs me....
Thank goodness we have vets that can see overweight labs, but the majority just look at the general scale... x
I took Chas and Duds for their boosters last week which is when the GP vet said he was just right
When we took Charlie to the specialist a few weeks ago we took Duds with us and the specialist said how lovely it was to see such a good example of a labrador
