We had a fab weekend at the KC Weimeraner show at Winterton, as we are not training atm I was worried how we'd get on but Bella did me proud
Saturday we got 5th place in combined 1-3 ABC Jumping and clear in 1-7 ABC Steeplechase, was really gutted as I messed up an agility run as wasn't quick enough off the mark so we got 5 refusal as she came back to me before the weaves, if she'd of been clear she'd have won by 2 seconds and would have put her into grade 3 gah hey ho thats agility
Today she was just flying 4th in 1-3 combined ABC Jumping, 4th in 1-3 combined ABC Agility, 5th in combined Jumping, 6th in 1-7 combined ABC steeplechase (I was soooo pleased with this as some fabby grade 7 dogs where there) and clear in 1-7 ABC power & speed.
Bella has just started to shine over the last few months shes my first agility dog and not easy to run, we started at KC shows last Feb spend 6 months with real issues queuing as she wanted to eat everyone including me and she's only started to become more consistent over the winter I just can't believe shes the same dog so focused and speedy its brilliant
Heres a pic of her showing off her rossies
I've figured that Luna can do speed at the cold winter indoor arenas, through the summer she's steady! We get places in jumping classes through winter and in agility classes through summer!
She is, Im always being asked if shes a full lab One of her agility runs she did in 29.533 sec and the jumping in 24.902 sec
We are the opposite having more jumping placings than agility, we've had a real battle to get clears as Im always more nervous in the agility and turn a bit quick so she usually knocks off a pole our first KC agility clear we went up a grade She doesn't seem to be bothered by the heat which is lucky but she does go back in the car between runs to keep her calm and I cover it with and old bed sheet with the windows open so she has a cosy dark den
We are away next weekend too at the RVA East of England show and are camping (she loves camping as has her own camp bed next to mine ) fingers crossed the weather is dry.
Good luck next weekend!
I'm another asked if Luna's a cross cos she's so small. We've had a go at Clever Dogs this year which is a short agility course with a flyball run on the end and seeing Luna whizz up the flyball run has made some collie owners look twice!
I've just bought a double air bed for our tent as I was the one losing out on the single version!
Thank you Im so very proud of her Sadly Henry has never done agility only started doing it as could never tire Bella out (tho don't think he'd of had the same drive as Bella) and hes now 13 so prefers a relaxing sleep
